My roommate and I were the first to move into the new edition of Prairie Springs. We moved in July '08 and have really enjoyed living here. Despite what others have said, we've found the management to be very prompt in meeting any needs we have. Sure the apartments are built quickly and cheaply like any other complex, but the interiors are very nice and reasonably priced. The walls are quite thin and living by the walkway I can always here when people are being loud outside our apartment. Luckily most of the neighbors are quite and respectful and it isn't much of an issue. We had problems getting very hot water, but this was due to the low factory temperature setting on the hot water tank which is something that is very easy to fix on your own. Also our oven stopped working one day (due to a problem with the temperature gauge) but the management was very quick in getting a third party out to fix it. On one occasion I was approached by a man trying to sell newspapers late at night, however upon telling him I was not interested he gladly walked off. There is a security patrol that I usually see at least 2-3 a week that probably is not much a deterrent for most criminals but none the less gives some peace of mind. Parking is never an issue unless I come home late at night, even then I can park within a 100 feet of my apartment. I was worried about there being a lot of kids around but there really isn't except between 3-6pm. In our honest opinion Prairie Springs are as good as any for the neatness, safety, space, and value. We've searched and tour MANY apartments in OKC, especially on the north side and find Prairie Springs to be among the best.

Do you still live there? Are you or do you personally know management? Why would you give a perfect rating when you admit alot of the same concerns others have voiced regarding the apartment but only to dismiss them as if they weren't no biggie. You are the only person to give a perfect rating. There is no such thing as perfect anything. I find it peculiar that you agree with what most of the negatory things that have been said about the apartment, just changing it and brushing it off as no problem. If your car got stolen, or if you were a normal tenant who lived there and have any common sense, you would know that it isn't normal or okay for people to approach your home late in the night to sell you newspapers. They obviously had something else in mind. Luckily for you it wasn't your car to get stolen and lucky for you, they didn't actually get in your apartment, like it has happened to several others. But what if you had a family? What if you were a woman? Would you really feel comfortable living somewhere where several people have complained of the same issue. would it take your car being stolen, your house to get broken into to, or God forbid you get mugged or raped to understand the type of fear that remains in someone after such occurences really happens. If only one person had complained about these issues i might perhaps think it was a disgruntle person who lived there. But the fact of the matter is that their is several people complaining about the same issues. You seem to be the only one okay with parking your car a hundred or more feet away from your apartment. Getting people you don't know approach your apartment late at night; whom shouldn't even be in the complex, with only God knows there intentions of approaching your door. Many apartments often deal with similar problems, however for the cost of these apartments, you can easily find an apartment just as nice looking, in a safer area, somwhere else.

Do you have a practical solution to keeping everyone who doesn't live here out? Electrical fence with barbed wire perhaps? Yes I still live here and no I'm not friends with any of the management. Criminals don't approach people trying to rob or rape them by selling newspapers and simply walk off after telling them no. You could say he just wanted to get inside my apartment, but I'm a male, so I doubt that's it. I've had more suspicious people walk up to me in the Walmart parking lot in the last 6 months, than a year at Prairie Springs. While living here the management posted a note on everyone's door warning them that the previous night a suspicious man was seen. They doubled security for the next couple of days and nothing has been seen since. Perhaps you are so afraid of the outside world you never go out? There are always going to be people with harmful motives in the world. I think you are the one who has no common sense if you can't see that crime exists in all levels of society. As for giving it a perfect rating. Five stars meant I considered it a great apartment complex, not that it is perfect. You have no idea what my family or I have been through to give me a lecture on compassion. I suggest you get a realistic view of the world we live in and learn that it isn't perfect.
