If you choose to rent at Quail Lakes, insist on seeing the exact unit you are renting before signing anything. I did not, and the quality of the unit I ended up with was of a lower quality than the model I saw. I was very disappointed from day one. 1.My patio is crumbling and falling apart. 2.The drawers in the kitchen do not stay on the runners, and even though I have requested many times for them to be repaired, they never get it right.
3. In several places the corners of the sheet rook are crumbling and beyond repair.
4. Pieces of molding are missing from many places.
5. I was told that unit I was renting would have 2 cable hook ups. It has 1, and there is no way to get another one because the apartments will not OK having the cable company put in another one.
6. I was told I would be able to change the air conditioning filter myself if I wanted to. I have allergies and I like to use a higher quality filter and change it once a month. This also usually reduces the AC bill by 5 to 10%. After I moved in, I found out that my apartment key did open the closet where the A/C is, even though I was told it would more than once.
7. I could go on and on about promises made and not kept, but I need to cover 2 or 3 other areas.
The management and one leasing agent are so sweet and friendly when things are going good, but when you have a serious problem, and wish to talk to the manager about it, she is always conveniently unavailable. The so sweet and friendly leasing agent will tell you she will call, but she doesnt even bother to do that. I have had to call TransWest Properties just so I can talk to the manager face to face during business hours. I do not know what a manager is there for if she is not to deal with unhappy residents face to face.
Since I moved in September, we have had 4 different managers!! At first, you think this new manager is going to handle things more professionally, but it ends up being the same old run around and tricks as before.
There is one male leasing agent who has always been here since I moved in. He seems so pleasant and nice all the time, but beware! He is the one who will tell you the manager is not in, or busy and so on. And he sweetly promises over and over again that she will call. When you come back to the office because she has not called, he is so quick to apologize and reassures you that she will call the next business day. It does not happen. However the next time you see him he apologizes so sweetly. If you are really upset he might even suggest you go to her apartment. BEWARE of this trick! You wont get to see her there and the next time you see her you will get a royal chewing and she will tell you she will call the police next time or you will be evicted.
The above things have happened to me so many times that I now recognize a pattern. It is a pattern of deceit. BEWARE.
