Me and my fiancee' moved in mid 2007. Our lease is ending and boy are we ready to get out! We've had plenty of problems with maitenance, when we moved in there were tiles coming up and they just fixed them like three months ago. It's a seven month lease and they're just now fixing them. We were supposed to have a contractor fix our counters, that never happened. Our microwave when we moved in nearly caused a fire in the apartment and the oven would not heat anything! It took nearly two hours to just do pizza rolls.
A few months ago, the man above us left the water on and flooded his apartment which dripped down into our apartment. We have bubbles on our ceiling. We contacted emergency maitenance, they came right away. Although, they refused to check for any damage or do anything at that time. We consulted with the staff, they sent in a report and someone else a few weeks later came from maitenance. He said he was just going to paint over it. Well, it's a been a month and we still have not seen him. Now the ceiling is starting to crack, due to the water damage and the balcony above us from precipitation.
Our sliding doors leak to this day, even though we've sent in reports. The first few months we had a major spider problem, along with cockroaches, rolly pollys, and we still have the rolly poly problem. They did spray the apartment ASAP and all the other insects are gone.
As for the community, my fiancee's car got egged within the first few months. The neighbors we once had were yelling in the midst of the night. I'm talking 2AM. The gate is always open, so basically it is not a gated community. Don't let the show apartment fool you, these are not the nicest apartments, especially for the price. We have a 500sq ft apt. We pay $489 a month and that's with a military discount. That does not include the $35 for washer and dryer, that really didn't work at all. It took three times to dry two pairs of jeans. The washer ended up soaking our clothes in black, horribly smelling water instead of running a cycle. It says you have seperate water heaters but everytime the guy upstairs starts his shower, ours gets cold!
I had a dog, a golden retriever/great pyranese mix. She weighed well over the normal weight at most apartments. This apartment complex does allow large dogs, but they do require a $400 pet deposit. So basically, you put $100 at move in and pay the rest off with your rent. So half way through your lease, you're still paying for your dog almost by the time you're about ready to move out. It's ridiculous. The pond is NOT stocked and has what looks like a sewer pipe towards the back of it. It's more filled with snakes than anything. My fiancee' has been fishing there ALOT and has never caught anything! Dogs run around without leashes, when by law they are to be on leashes. Owners don't pick up after them. There are leaves and little whispy weeds all over! They actually pile up on your back porch.
I do not recommend this to anyone, unless you are looking for a quick move and really horribly managed apartments.

The day I moved in I was almost electrocuted by the stove, which was not grounded properly. I told the maintenance man that everytime I touched the stove I was getting a current of electricity through my entire body. He didn't believe me, so he stuck his hand on the stove and got the shock of his life! Now, how in the world do you get away without fixing a problem like that before you put a new tenant in that apartment?
