I have lived here for over a year, and have never had a serious problem here. Minor issues like the cauking around the tub, and the silverware drawer in the kitchen have been "fixed" several times, and never adequately. The maintenance guy wears his jeans (seriously) with his waisteline BELOW his butt cheeks. (So that tells you just a little bit about the character of the place.) Neighbors are lower-tier, and I can see why previous posts have labeled this "The Ghetto".
Having said all of that, I have never had a serious problem. I have never seen any instances of danger, break-ins, or even a cop car in the development. You won't get solicitors at your door, and the inside of my apartment is in pretty good condition.
