I have gone on military orders, and had to cancel my lease 2 weeks early. I put a 30 day notice in, did all the correct things to leave an apartment complex. They said they lost my 30 day notice, they said I had to pay for the carpet to be steam cleaned in which that is covered by the deposite, they also said I never put a 30day notice in and I had to pay for the 2 weeks that I did not live in the apartment. And they sent me a bill 2 months after the fact of living in there of 150 dollars and it stated that I were to pay it or it would go to a collection agency. I reacted and turned the tables on them and faxed them the 30 day notice, my military orders, and stated that I was gonna have the JAG (Jugde advocate general) officer contacting them if they don't fix the mishaps.
