I lived in Quail Ridge for 3 years... 3 long years. I had many maintenance issues, one being when the air conditioning went out in late July (in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees) and there were sparks coming from the fuse box. When I called the emergency maintenance number, a man who spoke very little English was sent over. He told me in his broken English that he did not know what to do about the sparks and that he was not an electrician. Then he left. I was afraid the place would burn down so I packed up important belongings and spent the night elsewhere. It took them 7 days to fix the air, and only after repeated phone calls and finally having to yell at management.

The office staff is completely clueless. But it makes sense since the entire staff changes every 6 months. I had a $150 credit on my account one month and was told that I could deduct that amount from my next month's rent. When I did that I received a very nasty note stating that I must vacate within 10 days for failure to pay the appropriate amount, that a court papers would be filed against me, on and on. I consider myself to be a reasonable and understanding person, but when I called the finance manager to tell her the eviction notice was wrong and that I was unhappy with the manner in which I was being treated, her response of, "well, we have over 250 units" really got under my skin. No apology, nothing. The only helpful one in the office is Steve. He is very nice and understanding, and has somehow managed to stay for more than a year!

While they are doing some renovations (and in turn raising rent), it's not enough and it doesn't change the fact that it feels very unsafe to live here. The trashy people, the crime, the shootings (yes, shootings), 911 calls about fights in the parking lot in the middle of the night... it's just not worth it. Find somewhere else to live, you'll be glad you did.

If you had such a horrible experience why did you live their 3 years? There are plenty of apartment complex's in the area with comparable prices.
