A previous reviewer is correct in saying that if your apartment faces Featherstone (and park your car on the parking lot facing the street!) that you will be relatively safe. A few apartments inward I found out a man that the tenant had some sort of court order against went to the office to get the alarm security code, they didn't give it to him but also didn't stop him from going over to the apartment, breaking down the door, holding a knife to the girl while his new girlfriend took her baby, packed up its stuff and left. That lady stood in the parking lot shouting for help for half an hour before anything happened. When you are taking your tour and they point out all of the police officers that live on site - remember that these guys are probably out doing their jobs and it doesn't really make this place any safer.

Maintainance was very timely, and for non-issues could get the problem fixed pretty easily - but do not expect to be professional, or to speak English. The make-ready team apparently likes to leave pornographic magazines in the sink so watch out for those. Also, maintainance will not clean up after themselves so if they have to do any construction work or work involving chemicals do not expect them to work safely or with any regard to your belongings, your pets or your children.

Overall, they will treat you okay (as well as any other apartments) as long as it is convenient for them. But if you don't care about anything else you read here and have to live at these apartments, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE heed my advice below to protect yourself.
1) Get documentation. Get a receipt for every check you write them because even when I HANDED my check to someone at the office they managed to lose it and I had to get a copy from my bank to prove to them that they ALREADY CASHED IT. Every maintenance request should be in writing and DO report everything - even over the course of one year you may find that the foundation in your apartment is shoddy and your walls are cracking. Put it in writing or they will ignore it (mail it to them certified with return receipt and they cannot ignore you), and if the issue is a health or safety problem don't bother waiting for them to honor their obligation to move you to a safer unit - JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.
2) If you find yourself in a situation where your rights as a tenant are being violated (and don't let cheap bully tactics make you think otherwise), look up your rights on the Oklahoma Bar website (http://www.okbar.org/public/brochures/tenbroc.htm), and you can get free consultations with several attorneys in the area. Know that you have the right to contact the Health department and Fair Housing and if you choose to deal with the apartment complex, deal with someone directly at Northstar Properties, not in the apartment office.

These two points are always a wise practice, but if you start to feel like you're really having to follow them at these apartments - just save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to live.
