Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2001
I never had any problems at this place originally. The managment may not even still be the same. But in the weeks before our lease was up I asked one of the office ladies who I happened to share an elevator ride with- I said my lease is up in a couple of weeks what do I do, can I just be moved out by that date and not feel out a bunch of paperwork- would that be okay. She said yes that would be okay just to be out before the last day of the lease. I left the apartment in excellent condition, there were just a couple of carpet stains. I had 5 or 6 people total helping me move out. A couple of weeks later I get a call from their attorney saying that I owe almost $1,000 for damages to the apartment. They said there were holes in the walls etc. I was furious and said listen I will see you in court I have six witnessses and will not even think about paying a dime till I see pictures of this "damage". They started stuttering and said okay and we'll get back to you on it. A couple of years later and I look at my credit report and there it is a big slap on it for collections for the damages. Those jerks never sent me anything after my phone conversation and just snuck this bogus charge on my credit report. I am trying to get a house and this charge is definitely contributing to having problems getting qualified. Don't LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ATTORNEY WATCH YOU MOVE OUT AND VERIFY THAT THERE ARE NO DAMAGES. If anyone else has had this problem post on this sight because I would love to get a class action law suit against these crooks if they are still the same management company.
