Previous Manager Speaks Honestly

I was the manager of Sunnyview Apartments for almost a year and a half, and yes, the majority of the negative things stated in these posts are directed at me. When reading these posts it would benefit you to know the following:

1) This website does not promote 100% accurate information. It relies completely on opinion, and they do not police the posts. The poster is at liberty to state anything they wish, even it is false, misleading, slanderous, or without merit.

2) An angry person is far more motivated to speak out than one who is content.

3) An apartment manager can only work within the guidelines and the budget provided by the management company and the owners. When a property is under-staffed, over-worked, and over-budget, the manager has no recourse. He or she cannot authorize contractors, vendors, or other expenses without the express permission of his or her supervisor. Essentially, "the buck does not stop" with the manager. Often times, they have to work with limited to no resources.

4) My heart ached over the things I could not do for my residents, and the long term residents who stuck it out with me would express the same sentiment to you. I not only managed Sunnyview, I was a resident. I too had long term maintenance issues in my personal unit. I took too many cold showers to count. I lived each resident's pain with them.

Considering everything written above, the new manager has an incredible team behind her. A new management company is in place, which means things can finally move forward. Money is being spent to rectify many of the maintenance issues detailed in the posts below. She is going to bring my hopes and dreams for Sunnyview to fruition.

As the previous manager, all I can ask is for you to give Sunnyview a chance. The floor-plans are incredibly unique and spacious. This property has amazing potential that is going to be achieved. All one can ask is for residents who truly care about their community.

It's to bad that it"s not just the apartments it's the area too , i"ve been gone now for two years and i still see this area as trashy and not up and coming it's too bad that Del City will not take it under it"s wing then maybe it could really be the property that it used to be i lived there in a 1,2,&3 bedroom my relationship started with sunnyview as far back as 1999 , and i can honestly say it did not decline until 2004. also i heard from a mgmt company that gave it a run when i lived there but did not last that sunnyview's fall includes insurance money wasted from the may 3rd tornado, 70% of sunnyviews issues are related to building shifting , plumbing , fires , and property damages from vandals. i really wish you all luck but the area is getting worse.

Could you explain why would a current manager say this one is Ready and after giving the $250 deposit it turns out this one is already Rented? Could you explain why there is a delay for another one to be Ready? Could you explain why we're not allowed to look at one even tho it is not Ready, but deposit paid? What is up with current management?

And that is exactly why your title is FORMER manager
From: PrevManager Date: 12/16/2008
Anonymous, My title is Former Manager because I chose to leave a management company whose lack of resident services was deplorable. Their lack of desire to improve the community left it in turmoil, and I could not be a part of such indifference. For the record, they lost the property approximately three months after I left. The new management team is supported both financially and professionally. Obviously, you did not read the entire post, and as usual, made a rash statement without knowing any facts. It is people like you who make our jobs difficult. We strive to provide the best we can within the parameters allowed. Property Managers do not have complete control over their properties, and when individuals, such as you, make assumptions, they usually are wrong. Next time you feel the need to lay blame for anything wrong where you currently live, consider the owners for they are the ones who determine the budgets. Consider the management company for they are the ones who insist we enforce all rules and regulations. Managers need support and understanding, not snarky comments made without merit. Thank you, PrevManager
