New management not up to par

When we first moved here nearly three years ago, the complex was very well-managed. The last 7 or 8 months, however, are a different story.
The place is still owned by the same family, the Fretwells, the management has changed hands several times.
I remember when I first came for a tour...the manager took me to several apartments, showing us the same model on different floors, even though one was obviously still being worked on. We chose that unit because it was on the second floor and we preferred that. We pretty much signed right then, and had no qualms with our choice.
Everything that needed to be fixed was fixed very quickly; also, the maintenance man lived right below us, which was helpful. Unfortunately, he was let go, and while some of the workers are very nice and helpful, I almost NEVER see them anymore. We have had the same problem with our a/c unit for 2 summers (leaks freon) and even though they know this is a problem, it never gets fixed. Our summer electric bills are as high or higher for our less than 1300 sq. ft. apartment than my sister's 1900 sq. ft. house!
There were also issues with car breakins last year, and all they ever did was change the gate code.
I will say that there have been a few times I have stopped by the office for some reason or another, usually a request for something to be fixed, and I was met with rolling eyes. I don't break things on purpose...sometimes I'll even let things go for awhile if they aren't major if I feel like I've been demanding!
Anyway, while I would have recommended this complex a couple of years ago, I would not now.
