The absentee owners apparently have very shallow pockets, no expertise in maintenance, renovation, or customer satisfaction, and complete indifference to safety, honesty or integrity.
Even the Leasing Office has been unusable for over a year, due to the ongoing plumbing problems. Sewage backups, broken drains, sweating pipes, none of these have been addressed since the latest owner has taken over. The only project which has been completed by these numbskulls, is the ornamental white landscape rock around the perimeter of the parking lot, which is killing the trees, and falling off the slope into the parking area.
The unfinished lobby greets you with missing ceiling tiles, exposed wiring, overflowing buckets to catch plumbing leaks of both water and waste. The stench of sewage and the year long unfinished painting, tile and bare unfinished concrete floors lead to the elevators, whose doors feature a ground to bare metal finish. Once inside, the grafitti engraved walls have been whitewashed without any thought of masking. The light fixtures are broken because there is no freight elevator for moving furniture, and neither one is big enough for most sofas or entertainment centers.
Many of the apartments themselves are fairly nice, in appearance. Don't be fooled! Generally, new carpet, vinyl flooring, and cabinets, are the result of plumbing problems in the apartment or the ones above. There have been NO permanent plumbing repairs. Many contractors have been in the building to assess problems, but their solutions have been ignored or judged to be too expensive, so problems persist and are dealt with on an "emergency only" basis. Just pray that the "emergency" happens between 9 and 5 on a weekday. Even then, it won't be dealt with by a professional. First, the incompetent "maintenance" will half-ass something, usually compounding the original disaster. Most reputable plumbers, electricians, HVAC people won't have anything to do with the building, its owners,or its management, due to past experiences of non payment, unwillingness for owner/mgmt. to fix the REAL problem, or having to deal with past repairs done by incompetant people.
I WOULD Recommend the Tiffany to anyone researching a book on incompetance, indifference, and a complete ignorance of highrise apartment ownership and management.
Sincerely,
Glad To Be Gone!!!
