During the 8 months I lived in Tiffany House I had 3 managers. First hint of problems. The smell of sewage wafted across the bathroom basin each morning. The toilet was 'worked on' at least once a month. One time Roto Rooter was called and they went through the kitchen wall explaining to me that there were 3 lines for the bathroom: tub, toilet, sink. The kithen disposal emptied into the batheoom sink. The line to the AC handler leaked and the ceiling tile in the hall closet looked like a pinata. Mold was everywhere causing coughing and respitory problems. When I moved in it was November and I had no heat for 3 weeks. I was told to use the oven and vent fan. The door to the oven did not open completely due to an ergonomic problem: the oven handle would not clear the refrigerator. To open the oven door, the fridge door had to be completely open. Baking was so enjoyable. Space problems were everywhere in the kitchen.

I am now in a 1923 brownstone studio with less problems than experienced during the last year.

Manager's Response

From: Manager Date: 01/10/2008
I am Stephanie Lagatta the owner/manager of Tiffany Tower. Yes, we went through many managers because they did not do their job up to our standard. The heating/cooling issues have been resolved. We handle service calls as soon as possible. I have been in charge for four months and understand that there were a lot of problems in 2006 and beginning of 2007. If you would like to know how it is now, read the comments of people who actually live here now. I can't argue with bad experiences from a year ago, but things have changed. There have been ergonomic problems with some of the oven doors. I have resolved them by redoing the cabinets and replacing the appliances. Any other questions?!
