Don't you dare move here, if you love life.

I recently moved away from vintage lakes. For the past two months, they have refused to do anything about the AC, which has been out of service. When I moved in, the first inkling we had about foul play was a leak through the middle of the living room ceiling. It had been freshly painted just before we moved in, and the leak had been covered up; not fixed. We called maintenence for four days in a row with no response. We then called the office, they sent a man out; He proceded to assume that the leak was caused by the washer hookup, sealed the pipe so we couldn't use our washer, and left. The leak persisted. The man came back after we complained for another five days, cut a hole in the ceiling, found that the leak was from one of the bathtubs, fixed the leak, and left. When he returned to patch the ceiling, he screwed a patch of drywall into it, and left it like that. Very shoddy looking. We then found that the hot water had been shut off due to a break in the main. It remained shut off for days after the main had been fixed. Not once did we get a discount on rent due to faulty service, nor did service improve. A window was broken on an apartment two doors down from us, and the maintenence man just screwed a piece of plywood over it for weeks. The first five weeks we lived in our apartment, we could not lock our front door from the outside; a problem that was said to have been fixed before we moved in.
Now they are offering one hundred dollars off of select tenents' rent due to the AC being off for the last two months, but they are not offering it to everyone that has been affected. I was told about an existing Class-Action lawsuit against the managers, and am pursuing any information about it. If you know anything about it, please post any information you have; it would be greatly appreciated..
To anyone else; please, for the love of god or whatever deity you deign to believe in, do not move to this complex. You will regret it if you do. Maybe not the first month, or the second; but if you don't regret it by the third, I guess you really like living in hell, and you probably will never manage to escape. That's all I have to say. Thank you.
