My partner and I have lived in Vintage Lakes since March this year and our apartment is not too bad because it was painted and cleaned before we moved in. The main problem is the lack of utility services and the lack of repairs and maintenance, but outside is another matter entirely.

To start with the services, we have had no hot water at times; we have had no cold water at times; we have had no electricity occasionally, but that was mainly due to storms. Our a/c works most of the time but sometimes we have to turn it off for a while to get it to "reboot" when we switch it back on. Whenever it rains hard enough we get water coming up through the floor, so our bedroom carpet is constantly damp. We sometimes get water dripping down through our bathroom ceiling when the people upstairs use their bath, and the ceiling is looking more and more like falling down. There was a bad cockroach problem when we moved in and I've spent about $50 on baits and gel to fix that. Our dishwasher has never worked but that doesn't bother me too much - rather that than the refrigertor not working. We have noisy neighbors upstairs but I think the fact that we hear them is to do with the poor construction of the building, not that these people are particularly loud.

Okay, inside is not too bad - but outside!!! There is always a lot of trash, courtesy of the local kids whose parents haven't taught them not to litter. But, as someone else mentioned, the worst trash is in the laundry area in this section of the complex and is entirely the fault of management. There is a trashcan but it filled up long ago and is never emptied, so the laundry area is littered with old clothes, soap containers, and lots of unrecognisable gunk. People have also dumped household trash in there and the feral cats that live in that area have ripped into everything. As well as that, the washing machines don't seem to work very well - my clothes come out dirtier than when they went in - and the dryers hardly ever work.

There are also a couple of upstairs apartments where the residents have allowed their dogs to poop on the balcony and then it's been either swept or washed over the edge - nice for the people living below!

This is a very unhealthy place, especially for kids, with all that trash, animal poop, broken glass, foul water, liquor bottles and other hazards lying around everywhere. Sure, it's people who create the trash but they have little incentive to stop doing it when the maintenance people don't help by emptying full trash cans.

Every day the maintenance workers seem to be mowing lawns, trimming hedges or other superficial stuff. It's all very well to have bushes trimmed into pretty shapes, but what about the things that really matter' What about CONSTANT hot water and airconditioning' Isn't the health of our children more important than pretty shrubs'

And we're paying hundreds of dollars for what' Mismanagement, fraud and deception. I don't blame the office staff - I think they're overworked and understaffed - but whoever has control of the purse strings needs to think about this: yes, it costs money to maintain a big complex like this but if you don't do that you're going to end up with unliveable conditions where the only tenants you'll have will be those who can't afford to pay to live anywhere better. Think about the consequences of that. Already there are many empty apartments because of the bad conditions, and the fewer tenants, the less income - a vicious cycle.

Your complaints sound like your in my area. You would think by having a website as informative as this one, Vintage Lakes should have gotten a call from the BBB by now. I called fair housing about my mail box key and they lied and told them they had the key. My ceiling is still not done, and on top pf that, I'm killing spiders damn near every other day. I'm so scared I'm going to wake up with a spider in my bed. I hope a higher power is reading these comments and shut this place down and give every resident that wants to leave relocation expenses along with no charge of breaking lease.
