Four years here and will not resign lease if things don't change.
Had a great manager when I moved in, unfortunately she left and in the last 3 years it has gone seriously down hill.
Just a few thoughts to ponder:
1)Cars with flats, cars with trash bags covering the windows and they haven't moved in over six months. Don't know if people have moved off and just left them, or if they still live here and think it's okay to create an eyesore.
2)Dog poop everywhere, either because people don't clean up after their pets or it could be because the pet stations aren't supplied quite a bit of the time.
3)Rotting and loose siding and wood trim.
4) Old and energy inefficient appliances and a/c's. Rumor was, new windows were going in, haven't seem any progress on that front. Guess it's more leaseable to have a "new and improved" fitness center.
5) Booming car stereos at all hours of the day and night. Rattle the windows, and set-off car alarms.
6) Covered parking is a problem. Unlighted, and if you get someone next to you who doesn't care about their car or yours...well you can figure out what happens to your car.
7) Roving and uncontrolled teenagers sitting or leaning on your vehicle. Worse, they think it's perfectly fine to bang into it with bicycles, skateboards, or to whack it with a baseball or basketball
8) Loud uncontrolled parties at all hours of the night. On a few occasions they have ended up with fights in the parking lot.
9) Gang graffetti
10) Security is by officers who live here, SOME of the guys are great and responsive when you call. I guess management feels that the presence of police cruisers around the complex serves as a deterrant. 4 years ago we didn't need a deterrant!!!
No apartment complex is perfect, not even the newer, pricier, tonier ones. But when you charging class "a" rents on a complex built in the 60's and have the problems they have, it says a lot. I choose to live in an apartment as opposed to house, but I should have the right to peace, quiet and a secure feeling. I don't.

I would agree with this review. The courtesy officers are very nice, but it is really managements job to screen tenants especially when they want to charge above market value for a 40 yr old complex. Case in point this AM at 2 with the drunk and rowdy twenty somethings running down the street and leaving beer cans and cups in front of their apt. It is not the courtesy officers job to be called at all hours. It is Trish and Stacy that need to step up or be removed by Trans West.

Hey all-its the office. Just an FYI-all tenants qualify equally to live here. And it is the courtesy officers job to answer the pagers at all hours of the night, that is the reason they are here! We do our best to make sure all residents follow the community rules and regulations.

Moving to Oklahoma City in the next month. I do my homework online and in person. While in town on business last week I did a drive through of this complex and others I am considering, as I have done in the past at other places in other cities. It does need a bit of a freshening. I talked to some tenants who were out-and-about on the property, responses ranged from good to bad.
I would say from the response of the staff to these postings, that their corporate HQ reads them as well. If you have to defend your actions, I'll take my monthly rent elsewhere. Which is kind of sad...it's a great location!
