Don't know about everyone else, but I've had a good experience

I've lived here a year and a half and honestly have had no problems. It's very quiet on my side of the complex. True, I do live in a one bedroom and maybe the larger units where there would be more families with kids running around are on the opposite side of the complex or something. My air conditioner wasn't getting as cold as it should this summer and it was charged promptly. When it still wasn't cooling down, it was checked again and found to be leaking and I came home to a brand new unit. Recently, I had been gone to Tulsa all evening and when I came home at almost midnight I found that my hot water tank was leaking all over the place. I shut it off and called the emergency maintenence line thinking I would just leave a message and that it wouldn't get looked at until the next morning. I was so surprised when not even ten minutes later, someone was at the door to check things out. Granted, it was something that was affecting their property at that very moment. All that could be done then was to drain the rest of the water, but it was still surprising that at after midnight someone got there so quickly. The hot water tank was replaced the next morning and I've had no problems since.
I've also never felt unsafe. I've never worried about my car being messed with or anything. True, I do pay more than some of my friends who live in one bedrooms, but to me it's worth it. I have friends who pay $200-$300 less in rent, but they don't have a washer and dryer in their apartment, don't have a dishwasher, no fireplace, no pets allowed and no covered parking. Their apartments are also a lot smaller (even ones considered large one bedrooms) and they live in areas of town I wouldn't drive through alone during the bright light of day, much less live there. At least my apartment hasn't been broken into like some of my friends have. Every friend that's come to my apartment has complimented it.
No, I do not work for the complex, have no friends that do or am any way connected to the management company. I was just so surprised by the negative comments. It's true the complex is not brand new, but I've been in a lot of apartments and believe me, it could be much, much worse. An apartment is never going to be just like a house, so don't expect it to be. Maybe I just got extremely lucky. I don't know when additions were made to the property, but it could be I got a "newer" unit than some of the others or something. Overall, I would definitely recommend this complex.
