This is a very large apartment complex, so naturally the reviews will vary widely.
I've lived here going on 4 years, and have had some ups and downs.
Pros:
-Bedroom is big enough for your bed and your computer desk!
-Walk-in closet plenty of room for a girl!
-Logical layout
-Covered and reserved parking spot (and in 4 years, only had someone park in my spot 4 or 5 times and I slap a "will tow" sticker on 'em that the staff give you for free).
-Maintenance ppl show up day of or day later to fix whatever problem you have--problems I had fixed were: clogged up bathtub, faucet dripping, change lightbulb outside door, weather strip door and windows, bathtub backed up once. Remember this is over the course of 4 years, and are all minor things.
-"Courtesy Police" which consists of the 2 or 3 officers who live at the complex. If you call the main office after hours, there is an option to page the 'courtesy police'. I had to do that once when the neighbors (who were about to get evicted) were throwing a loud party. The officer called me back right away, then went straight to the neighbors and told them to pipe down. My hero!
-Location, location, location. Easy highway access, grocery stores super close, the mall is close, everything you need is on either May Ave or the NW Expressway.
Cons:
-Winters have high electric bill cuz the windows are paper thin and the old complex is just too drafty! (Summers are fine).
-Windows are paper thin and hear too much going on outside. They said they were going to replace them...but must not have had the money to.
-Had a lousy neighbor the first few months who made too much noice at *night time*, if you catch my drift, but there's a high turnover here so they left pretty soon.
-Walls are kind of thin, I guess' I just keep the fan going for white noise to drown them out. I grew up out in the country and it weirds me out to hear someone talking or laughing next door. Others may never notice. I have smelled some cigarette smoke wafting in thru the kitchen a couple of times, and I thought that was odd. Have no clue where that was coming from.
-Rent has gone up by over $60 a month in the last 4 yrs. The price range is just high enough to keep out the crack heads, but not too high for your typical middle class person renting for short term.
BOTTOM LINE:
I have been happy here cuz I'm close to all the places I need to get to, the maintenance ppl are prompt and kind, the staff are kind, and the layout is really great for this price range. Do I wish I had thicker windows, more storage, and angelic neighbors' Yeah, but I understand I just don't have the money for a nicer place, and neighbors are lousy whether you're in an apartment and share a wall, or live in a house next to a barking dog.
If you want to live in a convenient location and pay under $600, then this is a good deal.
