Good looking exterior, hell on the inside

I lived in these apartments a few years back. When my room-mate and I initially looked at the apartments, they were the best looking in the Midwest City area. We decided to go with the 2 bed, 2 bathroom flat. The interior looked great and I did like the layout of the apartment. We moved in early May so the temperatures in the area were still moderate. Little did I know what was in store us in the coming dog days of summer. The first problem we had was with the air conditioning. The A/C would not coll down our 800-900 square foot apartment under 85 degrees and constantly runs. I initially reported this to the staff in latter June. They sent out a technician and said he recharged the cooling unit. No change in anything. I get the bill for June and it is $220 for the month. After I catch my breath, I again go see the staff in mid July about this problem. Again, another maintenance person looks at it and says nothing is wrong and it is running as advertised. Temperatures in the apartment still linger at 85 degrees in the daytime to 80 degrees at night. It did not drop below this until the end of September when it started cooling down. I thought well maybe putting up thick curtains on the windows will help to drop the temperature. No change at all. Now I get my electric bill in August for July. This one is now $250. Once again I go to see the staff. This time they tell me this is an average electric bill. AVERAGE!!!! My parents own a 3200 square foot home in South Texas and their electric bill is approximately $150-200 per month. This is far from average. They also state I live in an upstairs apartment whihc is typically hotter. Okay, so this is true, but still no excuse for not fixing the cooling problem. So after going back and forth about the problem, they once again send another maintenance person. This time he fixes the line going into the complex from our cooling unit and recharges the freon. This results in minor changes to the temperature. Now it is ONLY 82-83 degrees at night and 78 degrees at night in all rooms, with the cooling unit running 24/7. September bill comes in for August and again another high bill at $225. This point is when the staff really pisses me off. They state that they have done everything they can. Okay, fair enough from their own personal inputs. BUT, GET ME A PERSON WHO CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. I am going broke paying utility bills and rent without living a very healthy lifestyle. I am sweating at all times while in my apartment trying to sleep and get comfortable, along with my room-mate. Lack of sleep is horrible and nothing ever gets done to fix the problem. I also received another $200 bill in October to cover September. By this time I am tired of arguing with the staff and the temperatures are cooling down.

Now, the apartment was good during the wintertime. No complaints in this area as the heating unit worked good along with the fireplace. The parking was minimally sufficient. My room-mate and I could rarely park in front of our apartment, but rather 200 feet away around the corner. I don't think there was much anyone can do to help this though due to the lack of land to expand. Overall, the staff was just making silly excuses for the cooling unit and my outrageously high electric bill. If the problem would have been fixed, I would give this a slightly above average rating. The facilities were nice and our neighbors were nice. Everyone minded their own business. I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the service, or lack thereof. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
