I lived at Apple Creek for almost two years. Living in Phase I, I was initially disappointed. However, after adjusting to the apartment, it was fine. The carpeting was in less-than-perfect condition--there were some stains, including one bleach stain. Upon moving in, the carpet was still quite wet from being cleaned.

We had several maintenance needs while living there. Our water heater broke, our washer failed to drain, there was a roof leak, and the sink clogged. However, maintenance (while not socially ept) was quick and helpful.

One problem, as noted by other reviewers is the lack of sound-proofness. We could hear our neighbors' music and conversations. We could also hear our upstairs neighbor's dog running, as well as the neighbor moving things, etc. Being a college town, the neighbors can be less-than-considerate about being quiet at reasonable hours. We also encountered a problem with our neighbor's smoking habit. Our apartment smelled as if we smoked. Anyone entering our apartment would have sworn that we smoked. My husband's allergies would act up because our apartment was so smoke-filled. When I talked to the management about solutions, they informed me that nothing could be done. Our clothes, furniture, and entire apartment smelled of cigarette smoke and nothing could be done. This was told to us in a very short, cold, and rude way.

Overall, Apple Creek was an OK place to live. The complex manager is not friendly, as others have noted, and she acts like every question is a bother. They are VERY picky about giving your deposit back ($300). We cleaned extensively, with a 4-person crew, and they still managed to dock us $17, even though it was cleaner moving out than it was when we moved in. Go figure.
