If Stillwater has a "ghetto," this is it. This place should be shut down for several reasons.
1. The grounds are absolutely disgusting. I've seen piles of excrement on the walkways, not to mention unknown substances rotting away and/or forming stgnant puddles on the stairs and other common areas. The laundry room is essentially a coin-operated crack house where people get wasted and take their anger out on the machines. The apartments themselves are large, but that is a negative here because they reak of decay and have about as much charm as a leper.
2. Many of my neighbors were involved in some aspect of crime, be it drug dealing, theft, or both. I've seen numerous pot and meth deals go down between residents and innumerable derelicts and junkies who seem to call the place home after sunset. I've witnessed a fist fight between a half naked and fully inebriated woman and her just-got-out-of-jail-free boyfriend. I've seen gangs duking it out in the parking lot, a drunken driver crash his car in the parking lot, and countless cops trying to keep up with the daily drama this place thrives on.
3. The management is absolutely terrible and borders on outright hostility. Among other things, Becky is undeniably and crass, careless, embittered, irresponsible piece of management from the depths of darkest hell. She attempts to bully tenants whenever they desire any sort of normal managerial intervention, including repairs, cleap up, and apartment safety. I suppose she relishes her role as a slum lord. Additionally, she and the apartment management company are crooks. Among other things, they threatened to charge my entire building for trash clean up because a guy who moves out left a broken desk on the breezeway. Since she didn't "know" whose it was (despite us telling her), we were told to move it ourselves or face a $50 fine. Most importantly, however, I left my apartment spotless when I moved out and was not given my refund back and was charged again for a pet deposit I already paid (and had proof of). In fact, after all that, they charged me an extra $150 for "maid services" (which don't exist there) and other such nonsense, along with a second charge for a pet deposit I already paid! A friend of mine who lived there left a bleach spot on the carpet and didn't even vacuum or rinse out his tub and was charged the exact same amount. After I iniially refused to budge on the ridiculous charges, they sent a credit agency after me and caused a negative mark to show up on my credit report. Needless to say, the $50 move in special they offered was just the old bait-and-switch gimmick. They got their extra $300 out of me (plus my pet deposit) by charging it after I left. Lesson: Don't be fooled by deals that seem to good to be true. Avoid at all possible costs unless you are a masochist of some sort.
