You get what you pay for indeed! These apartments do have the most space for the buck. They look awful on the outside, and not too bad on the inside. There are some flooding issues on the grounds. That is to say the place becomes a swampland when it rains (depending on which building you live in). My apartment building would gather 3-4 inches of water just outside the entrance, making it difficult to wear nice shoes or pants. Half of the washers and driers were broken, and signs were rarely posted to let the tennants know, so I lost money almost every time I did laundry. Also, the management is hard to deal with. They dont want to fix anything!! It took me two weeks on average to get them to finally get the job done (if it got done at all!!). For example, I had an animal find its way into one of my interior walls and I called them to come get it out. They waited too long, and it died, leaving a horrible smell inside my apartment. I then asked them to come get the now dead animal out of my wall, and once again they were nowhere to be found. So, I was stuck with a smelly, rotting animal for weeks! The maitenance guy only seems to want to deal with certain problems (i.e. anything easy, cheap, or fast). I was constantly told that he was out of town or busy with another job. It struck me funny when I had just seen him relaxing in the office, do nothing. Another thing is that they screwed me on my rent price. When I signed my initial papers I was told that I would pay a certain rate each month. Later, when I signed my final papers before I moved in, I failed to read in the small print that they had raised my rent by twenty bucks more than what I had previously signed for. I later asked them about this, and they more or less told me to deal with it. As one may speculate, I do not recommend these apartments to anyone. I would highly recommend you check out Linden Park apartments off of Sangre. They are just as spacious as the Lift, and rediculously nice for just a little more money.
