Overall, I have had a good experience here at Monticello. The apartments are bigger than the typical 1 bed/ 1 bath. They're 700 sq ft which is a big plus. The closet is big, but it comes with these ugly, brown sliding doors. However, the maintenance workers are happy to take them off and put them in storage so that tenants can hang drapes, for instance, instead. Speaking of the maintenance and staff, they're very friendly and usually respond to problems promptly. They wave when I see them outside, and in the rare case that they need to fix something, they're very nice about it. Also, the manager has someone spray for bugs every 3 months on a Thursday morning. When I first moved in, I had a huge cricket problem. I believe it was a problem all over Stillwater though that summer. Generally, the building condition is good but very old; therefore, not in perfect shape. I believe it was built in the 70's. The only place it shows inside the apartment is in the coloring and style of the kitchen and shower. By the way, the bathroom is tiny. The lack of countertop and storage space has really gotten to me, but it could be worse. Like the title says, I would recommend this place. It's reasonably priced, nice staff, big apartments. Just don't expect perfection.

I wrote the review above. Since then, I have moved out of Monticello Apartments. The security deposit was fairly small, but they took almost all of it even though I didn't damage anything and cleaned it thoroughly.
