When I moved into Cedar Ave apartments my buddy and I signed a 12 month lease. They seemed to be nice apartments, so we were pretty pumped up. It was a 2 bedroom for $450/month.

After awhile we started to realize how cheaply built the apartments were. I mean they were falling apart. Not to mention the fact that our upstairs neighbors had this little 3 year-old that would stand on their couch and jump into the middle of the floor, which made my whole apartment feel like there was an earthquake or something. We complained to the manager and he didn't do anything.

We had another neighbor who liked to do it (oh yeah, I mean IT) on her couch. That's all well and good, because she was courteous enough to keep the blinds closed. But her couch was right next to the window, so when I'd go outside for my nightly before-bedtime cigarette she'd be moaning and screaming her little heart away. I almost wanted to peek in to see if I could pick up some tips for my old lady.

Then at about month 6 I came home from work to find that our apartment had been broken into by the redneck-kid of another neighbor. Luckily they evicted them, but I never got any of my things back (he stole some PS2 games, a little money, videos, etc).

There was also a group of college students that lived a couple of buildings down from us and they would get into weekly fist fights in the parking lot at like 2am. I can't tell you how many times the police showed up to that place. Felt like I lived in Compton sometimes.

In July the apartment complex was bought from the current owner by a group of investors in California (or somewhere like that) and things went downhill even further. So we told the manager (a lady who'd been managing that place for like 2 days) that we were out of there.

Do yourself a favor... Don't live there.
