i love barcelona its quiet never have problems with any other tenants when i have emergency the young man the is the asst.
maintenance out here responds very quickly and get the work done in a timely fashion no matter the problem they have had alot of changes the outside lighting is great and maintenance personal is great and friendly

This really has gotten out of hand! I've lived here several years and have seen few favorable reviews! Suddenly we have ten in the last few weeks? This is obiously being orchestrated by the current management to get the rating up. It took a long time of poor and ineffective management to bring it down to where it is and it's going to take more than a blitz of internet postings to bring it up! While I feel the current management is trying to get it right, I wish they would stop sinking to this level of deception to try to convince us how wonderful(?) it is to live here. Also,I hope the maintenance manager doesn't throw his arm out trying to pat himself on the back!! Former managers would never allow their maintenace people to park in front of the office and to come and go like it was construction yard. And the maintenance manager didn't park there either. Being regarded as professional and being respected takes more than talk! I ask that they stop this campaign and just do the job..........the glory will come!

I am a tenant at Barcelona and I frequently visit the office staff because I do my laundry in the laundry room located by the office. I, too, have lived here for several years and while I don't know about the opinion that the current management is responsible for the postings on this site of late, I do think it is unfair to make such accusations. I have been here through many, many managers and I have never felt that any of them really cared about the tenants or tenants' concerns. However, I know from personally speaking with the current manager that she does really care about her tenants and wants the people living at Barcelona to love their home. I have asked about the gate being open and was told that someone decided it would be okay to push open the gate manually and this broke the arm on the gate. Management is waiting on a part and working to get the problem fixed as soon as possible. That old broken down car - I have seen a tow sticker on it and I'm sure the manager is probably working with that person so they can possibly get the car fixed before it has to be towed. I have no motives to post this comment other than I believe that the current manager is trying to get it right but it will take a while to get everything under control. Barcelona has been here for 40 years and with that is going to come the obvious problems plus the hardship of correcting past management mistakes. I'm not going anywhere and that's all that really matters to me.

So it is definitely obvious that management has stumbled upon this sight and were clearly concerned about the ratings and poor reviews..even though it appears deceitful, it was actually a pretty clever idea.
I have only moved here recently but here are my concrens:
-the exit gate is always open (even at midnight!)
-there is an old broken down car with its window busted out in my area
-I was told the pool was open on may 16, but the gate was locked on Saturday
Otherwise, I think the grounds are beautiful, and it is quiet in my vicinity (however the grounds are quite large and I can only speak for my area).
Also, I have only interacted with one mngmt staff, and she was very cordial and accomidating.
Overall as a single female, I feel pretty safe, but would like the gate to be shut, ecpecially through the night.
