I moved in with a roomate. I was having a lot of problems with her, and the apartment got her to sign me off of the lease. I'm not sure why i didn't go somewhere else, i think it was mostly because they weren't making me pay an extra deposit. so i stayed and it was one of the worst decisions i have ever made.
It is very unsafe here, and if you are female, I would absolutely recommend that you DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. I have been followed back to my apartment several times, and it is incredibly unsafe to go out after dark. My friend walked down to the gas station down the street and was forced to buy crack at gunpoint. Security is a joke.
I have to call at least once a week because my neighbors are out in the parking lot or on their balconies screaming. My neighbors have a child and when he misbehaves they put him on the balcony and let him scream. This is the sort of thing that is allowed at braden creek. security has actually driven by and seen men sitting on top of their vehicles and throwing beer bottles, and given them a friendly wave. I have had to call security four times in one night to get them to come ask my neighbors to stop screaming and turn off their carnival music.
My brand new bike was stolen and I went to the office and told them. They basically told me that they don't care and to get over it. The apartments have roaches, no matter how clean you keep them, the ceilings grow mold, the washers and dryers are broken half the time, and people will steal your laundry if you don't sit and watch it.
As for landscaping, this is horrible as well. There is a pond full of muddy dying fish running through the entire complex. Since the staff doesn't enforce any rules, residents throw bags of trash and used furniture into the ponds. they work on their cars in the parking lot and pile up beer cans and trash on the balconys.
Last week I called and asked a manager how much it would cost to get out of my lease. She was extremely rude and told me that it would be around 1100 dollars, and that i have to pay back the specials she gave me. she also tried to tell me i didn't pay any rent in may, even though i have my receipts. If i wasn't paying 400 dollars a months to live in a cesspool, I would take Braden Creek to court and sue the life out of them for not letting me out of my lease.
So please, do not give them any more business, or get yourself into a situation that you will have to put up with for a year. It may seem cheap, but it's really not worth it. You could live in a crack house for free and enjoy the same great service and environment.
