I had the exact same problem. I lived there in 2006. My AC stopped working in June and they didn't replace it until October. YOU DON'T NEED AC IN OCTOBER!!! After they put it in, it started leaking all over the place, which caused mold. I tried from October-July to get someone to fix it with no luck. In July I looked up the Renters Rights and decided to send a letter to them giving them 14 days to fix the problem and get rid of the mold otherwise I would be out of there. After the 14 days they still had not fixed the problem, after numerous calls from management saying they will, so at the beginning of Aug. I moved. Now here it is almost 2 YEARS later and I get a phone call from a collections agency yesterday saying they are charging me $990 for carpet cleaning, not returning keys (which we did), and not giving 30 days notice. Like I said, it's been almost 2 years so I no longer have the documentation that I sent them...and of course they don't have it either. Is there anything I can do to get this off my credit without shelling out $990 to these creeps'!
