Good starter apartment, otherwise look elsewhere

I lived at Coppermill for just shy of a year, and my particular apartment (near the front, facing 71st) was probably safer and quieter than many, but I would not return to this complex. The management was friendly and helpful, but the complex itself just left a lot to be desired.
My apartment had previously been lived in by cats, and though the carpet had been changed, I could still occasionally smell cat. The cabinetry in my bathroom was rotting near the bottom due to moisture from the toilet. The blinds on my sliding glass doors were flimsy, and at least two panels broke off when I was just trying to open them.
When I moved in the complex seemed fairly safe and quiet, but over the time I lived there the resident population became more ghetto, and there were lots of car break ins. I would not have expected this on this side of town.
I do have to give big kudos to the maintenance staff, however. They were always friendly, prompt, and extremely helpful.
