Looks can be deceiving

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
I lived at Creekwood for 3 years. In that time we experienced a plethora of issues both with the complex, management, and parking lot. Since living there we left apartment life completely and will never look back. Here are the pros and cons:
CONS:
*Since Case and Assoc took over, we caught maintenence trying to come into our apartment for BOGUS, unwarranted maintenence issues that we did NOT call in on 3 separate occassions. That is 3 different times I could have left things out, be it money or jewelry since I was unaware someone was going to come in. Per our rental agreement, they had to give 24 hrs notice prior to coming in unless emergencies such as flood. None of my instances were that case.
*My car was hit in the middle of the night and the entire back end was totalled. Ironically, it was parked 2 spaces from the speed bump and the force of the impact made my car completely touch the one next to mine. It was an umpleasant morning, considering I had to be at work at 6am and just discovered as I was leaving at 530. A few months later, I saw 2 other vehicles totalled and it was apparent they too were struck in the middle of the night.
*My husband's car was broken into. Again, near the same area that my car was hit in the middle of the night.
*Consistent leak in the bathroom ceiling which eventually started to create mold in our bedroom closet. This was reported to maintenence and "fixed" 4 separate occassions, ultimately they would just replace some wood in the ceiling, add more drywall, and the problem would begin again. It was a never ending cycle.
*On 3 separate occassions, management attempted to tell us we paid our rent late, even though we ALWAYS hand delivered. Eventually, we began making them photocopy our rent checks and sign & date with employee signature as they WILL make you pay the late fee, even if unwarranted. They were ALWAYS nice and helpful as we were touring the apartment, signing our lease, and moving in; however, once we become a resident things took a drastic change. Also, there was very high turnover with staff, I rarely saw the same people twice from month to month.
PROS:
*Loved how spacious our medium 1 bedroom was. Tons of closet, storage space. The living room was roomy. Our sectional fit well; never felt cramped and the fireplace was truly a delight.
*Apts were well insulated, we lived on the lower level and rarely ever heard our upstairs neighbor or the neighbors located behind us. This also made for efficient utility bills, we didn't have any drafty doors or windows.
*Maintenence was prompt and always friendly, I'm assuming now that they also scope out your apartment while they are there.
*Our rent continued to lower each time we renewed our lease. I do not know if this continued once Case and Assoc took over since we were only there about 4 months after they took over.
When we moved into Creekwood we truly thought this was a dream apartment. We selected this property mostly because it was owned by Sentinal as we had always heard of the horrid Case and Assoc stories. Again, looks can be deceiving. After Case and Assoc took over, we surely found out whey they have such a bad rap. Many of my long term GOOD neighbors began moving out and suddenly we were overwhelmed with inconsiderate partiers. Granted, we are in our late 20's and have nothing against hosting and having friends over; however, I think that there is some level of consideration that can be taken to ensure your company does not inconvenience your neighbors 3am just because they are drunk and they can.
