Very Long Review, but it has Good and Bad..More Bad

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008

My wife and I have lived here for a little under 2 months.

Here's the good. Very big apartment. We have a 2 bedroom and 2 bath, 1040 sq feet. "Our" hallway is always quiet.(I'll explain the quotes later) We are on the third floor. The apartment was very very clean when we moved in. Water is paid by how much you use, not an average of those around you. The complex is conveniently located. Close to 169, close to mall and restaurants, close to grocery stores. I can walk to my job and to my fitness center.

Here's the bad. We had just got back from our honeymoon late on a Saturday night. It was raining and we didn't bring in everything from our packed car, just the basic stuff. Well, I go out at 9 am the next day to start unloading, and come to find out my car was busted into. Thank you Jesus, nothing was stolen, but 7 other cars were broken into that night and people had tools, gps, clothes, watches among other things stolen from their cars. Here's the problem, where was security when these morons were busting windows' If they were at least driving by once or twice an hour, it could have prevented this from happening. If I had caught those guys, there faces would have been buried in the concrete. No joke!

Then a few days after the break-ins, we got a scribbled on unprofessional note from the complex saying, blah, blah, blah, there was a break-in. Very unprofessional letter. Then the gates stopped working and have not been working for about 2 weeks now. Unreal. We pay $820 a month and I know other people pay more for our gated community. The gates should be working ALL THE TIME.

More bad. My wife and I don't like going to the pool anymore because you have these scummy dudes who will look at anything that walks by, making my wife very uncomfortable. When we first moved in, these type of guys along with their girls, would overrun the pool and hog it. They would be drinking and grilling and just act like they owned the place. You did not see ANY families and kids going there, because of the crowd at the pool. The complex finally wised up and disallowed alcohol and only 2 guests per resident at the pool. That group still goes there, and still act like they own the place,(just minus the beer) so my wife and I rarely ever go. I used to live at the Courtyards of Tulsa, and never had that issue at the pool. EVER.

We thought moving into a place like the Remingtons, the crowd of people would be better. We were wrong. Lots of shady individuals that we see throughout the complex. You have your young 19 year old morons who park in handicap spots on a daily basis. I have called the apartment about that and nothing has been done. I still see those cars in the spots. Seeing how these apartments are a little more money, I thought I would see more families and less party animals. Wrong on that. Seems like every weekend, someone is having some sort of bash at their place. That's fine, but its the way it is handled that is troubling. I have had to park from my apartment, so I walk by other areas of the complex and this is where the quotes are explained. I hear idiots on their balconies shouting to their friends in the lot, and I have heard loud music, all late at night. Around 12 or 1AM.

More bad. The apartment advertises that they have bikes to rent for the day. My wife and I went to the complex thinking that would be a fun thing to do, only to find out that the complex didn't even know where the bikes were or if they still had them. YOU CAN'T ADVERTISE something you don't have. They have a theatre room, which is cool, but that projector was broken the weekend I wanted to rent it out.

Parking is a freaking joke. The complex didn't think that through. If you don't come home early, you will most likely have to park far from your apartment. Or I guess you could park in the handicap spot, because no one checks that anyways. Not gonna be fun parking in the winter time with groceries. My old complex, never had that issue ever. Always could park in front of my apartment. And I never ever ever ever worried someone would break in to my car. Didn't have those kind of people at the Courtyards.

More bad. People drive fast throughout the complex. For as much as all of us pay, this place should have security cameras lined up throughout the complex. They can afford it. Also, the lighting needs to be much better.
Back to the break-in, when we informed the apartment we were one of the cars, one of the other guys who had got his car broken into, said this was the second time in 1 month that his car was broken into. It's like are you kidding me'

When you drive into the Remingtons, you will think it is a nice complex.
Don't move here. Just needless annoying aggravations. They are nice apartments, don't get me wrong, but there are too many other things that take away from the spacious apartments. I know you can find somewhere better than these. When are lease is up in January, WE GONE
