I have lived at Riverchase for over a year now. It is not the best of apartments, but it is good for the price and size. We have had roach problems and been sprayed twice since we moved in. The apartment has undergone several renovations since we moved in and has changed management.
My fiance and I were locked out of the apartment for three hours one night after work. Both of us had our keys to the apartment; however, the keys would not open the door. We called the apartment office to get the overnight maintenance person to let us into the apartment. It took over an hour for the guy to get to us and when he got here, he was drunk. We found out as the night progressed that he lived in the apartment building behind us. After an hour of trying to convince us that we had another lock inside the door (where we couldn't unlock it from the outside), he finally called his senior manager out to help us. The manager arrived within 15 or 20 minutes and broke into our window to let us in. It was really scary how easily he got in with only an electric screwdriver. The senior maintenance manager replaced the slider of the lock and we haven't had a problem since. We were going to break the lease, but couldn't afford it--$1,100.
Also, rent was $499 when we moved in--2/2 with 950sq. Sq. includes the balcony. Once we renewed our lease, it jumped up to $579.

If you live in 7807 S Victor, I can commiserate with the roach issue. We had people move in and out of one apartment on the first floor there literally less than a week of moving in, sometimes just days. One poor lady was so scared because she said the first night they were in there and turned the lights off to go to sleep that they could hear the scurrying around like a horror movie.
That went on through about 3 couples until I think they finally got it under control. Otherwise, the new management seems to be OK and actually gave me my full deposit back when I moved out which I didn't expect. I love the comment on the maintenance guy as I think I know who you are talking about. I had my kitchen sink back up one Friday night around 6 and had to call, and the guy they sent smelled like he had been "hittin' the sauce" since around noon.
My rent was only $519 the entire time I was there. I think with the change of owners they forgot to see who needed to renew so I quietly just kept paying the same. I know Case left them in a huge mess when they took over. I think the biggest rip off though was the water and trash bill of at least $30 a month. I've lived in many apartments in many states to have bills less than $10 and around $20 but never that high. Since the apartment bills you for the service though, you never know if they are jacking up the price or not.
