From: bmw1985 Date posted: 12/20/2007 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007 2 responses   I have been without power for over a week because of the ice storm and while I know that it is mostly the power company's fault, the mangers have not answered any of my calls to the office. The office and several other buildings in the complex have power. I live far from work so I'd like to know if my power is on before I drive all the way home for the day but they always have the stupid answering service on. The answering service is a woman who knows nothing about the complex. It's really frustrating. So this place sucks in the winter when the power goes out but it's even worse in the summer when there are ---- roaches everywhere. I hadn't even finished moving in before I saw at least 5 in my living room. They are all over the sidewalks outside. When I asked the managers if they spray for them they said "No they are waterbugs, they come up from the river" If you wikipedia waterbugs guess what comes up' American Cockroach...but whatever they are I don't want them in my house. Oh and the laundry sucks too. You have to pay 3 dollars to get a card to use in the machine (that doesn't count towards laundry you have to put additional money on the card to use it) then the laundry is weird prices like $1.30 to wash so you will always get screwed out of some money because the machine only takes dollar bills and doesn't give change. And it's in the office so you can only get a card or add money during business hours. I've lived in apartments in college that were cheaper and none of them were this bad ever. I'm glad my lease is only 6 months and I will NOT be renewing it in March when I finally get out of there. Honestly, $489 is too much for this place unless maybe the cockroaches start chipping in.
