Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I lived there for 18 months. during that time, I battled cockroaches constantly (although they would come and "spray" something, it didn't make up for the nasty people living in the same building), noise levels were horrendous, and because of shadow mountain and an assisted living center, the constant emergency vehicles and sirens going down 66th place made it virtually uninhabitable. additionally, parking is impossible to find after 5:00 pm, they will rent to just anyone who will pay the rent, it is NOT the luxury living they advertise. you don't dare walk anywhere but on the parking lot because the grassy areas are full of dog feces. cats run wild all through the complex. after my first year's rent was up, they talked me into signing what was supposed to be a six-month lease but they wrote it for 8 months and then they wanted me to pay a "termination fee" when i tried to leave after 6 months! i referred other people to the apartment complex and they promised to pay a $50 referral fee. i had to wait 6 months to get it! in fact, the sorry office staff held it in their safe for 6 weeks after they received it! all the time i was checking to see if the check had come in. the manager knew it had, but she lied to me consistently. many times we were awakened with sounds of gunfire, and yes we know the difference between gunfire and firecrackers, cars backfiring, etc. water bills (and perhaps electric and gas also) are calculated based on the buidings as a whole and then proportioned among the number of tenants. you end up paying for watering the grass and filling the swimming pool, etc. the guys upstairs from me lifted weights at 3 am, threw stuff off the balconies, spilled drinks on my balcony, opened and closed the balcony door 100 times per night. one night we timed it. they were opening the doors every 3 minutes, open and close, open and close. the 'manager' of the complex is incompetent, and she's rude on top of that. the gates are a joke. they're open 18 out of 24 hours, and even when they're closed there's a walk-through gate. there's no security on-site, and if you do call security it's an hour if they show up at all. you're better off to call the tulsa police, but they're usually busy in the surrounding ghetto. the only close grocery store is scarehouse market, and you're taking your life in your hands if you go there. the quik trip on 71st is full of thugs and gang wannabes. in summary, it's a high-priced, low quality apartment complex in a ghetto. i'll never live there again.
