Westport is in a bad neighborhood. Car thefts and burglaries happen all the time around here. I have many friends that have their expensive bikes stolen (even from second floor balconies!) and the management turns a blind eye to it. I also have several friends that have had their car stereos stolen and know of a girl who had her whole car stolen only to have management say "That happens in all apartment complexes." The "security patrol" that you are reassured with before you sign your lease papers is nonexistant. In fact, there was just recently a shooting in the complex and management advised everyone in a memo to "maintain insurance coverage for yourself and your personal belongings." How's that for making you feel safe' And you can kiss your deposit goodbye. They will find a way to keep it from you. The management here are a bunch of tyrants! The complex looks nice from the road and is a great place to be around Oktoberfest time but it is not worth the hassle to live here.
