I've lived here for 2 years. My sister & I live in the large 2 bedroom overlooking the river. The view is great and the inside of the apartment is great. Unfortunately, the outside, including the stairs, paint, etc. looks very raggedy and worn. My friends always think it's ghetto until they get inside. The office staff is generally very helpful and nice. The maintenance usually responds quickly and fixes things in one try. The people that live here seem pretty cool, I'm a law student and I know that a lot of medical students and young professionals live here. The location is great, very central, close to the highways and downtown. The pools are excellent - they really come in handy during the summer. The fitness center is great, too.

There have been a few downfalls to living here:

1. The first year we lived here there was a MAJOR problem with spiders in our apartment and on our balcony. I'm not talking about little spiders, I'm talking about big spiders. Several big spiders at a time. We had to pester and pester the front office to get them to spray our apartment and balcony over & over again. It's been better this 2nd year but there is a serious problem with spiders in our location. It's so weird.

2. The train is LOUD and shakes my windows and desk in my room all hours of the night. It took me a couple of weeks to get used to it and I'm fine now.

3. My neighbors are loud & inconsiderate. I don't know if there's something in the water or air or something, but we've had the craziest neighbors since we've moved here.

4. The air tends to stink because of the Oil refinery across the street. During the summer it makes the air really thick and hard to breathe during certain parts of the day. It's not like that all day, just when they release it into the air or something a few times a day.

5. The parking is okay, not bad but not great.

6. The dumpster is about a 1/2 mile walk from my front door. It is good exercise but it's also annoying!!!!

Overall, I've enjoyed living here. There are downfalls to everywhere you live so just weigh the good with the bad.
