Overall, Windsail is a pretty good place to live. The location is good and bad because it is close to EVERYTHING you could imagine needing or wanting- only a mile from TCC Southeast Campus, and down the road from the mall and lots of restaurants. However, the traffic is insane except after 10 or 11 at night. The courtyard is beautiful and i have a HUGE shade tree in front of my balcony (as many of the apts do, try to get one, your apt will be cooler), and the grounds are always clean and kept up. There is more than enough parking. The outside was painted last summer (2003) and looks very nice, except that they painted over a wasp's nest instead of knocking it down. Also, the paint of my balcony is peeling and the wood is warping (somehow it gets EXTREMELY wet, even though it faces to the inside of the complex, the roof covers it, and there is a huge tree in front of it. i haven't figured that one out.
One of the biggest problems i have with the outside is that the paths do not drain well. When it rains, the water usually covers my ankles if it rains a lot. It usually takes at least half a day after the rain stops for it to go down, and it is still usually very muddy.
Maintenance staff is excellent! There are quite a few of them, and they are always friendly. They fix things immediately and are always polite. The first time one came to fix my toilet (it just had a loose washer) he got mud on my new rubber ducky bathmat. i told one of the office girls even though it was not a big deal, and ever since then EVERY single maintenance person has been sure to wipe their feet. they are very helpful and polite.
My apt is very quiet even though occasionally i can hear other conversations, but that is expected at any apartment.
apartment is very spacious and open- i even have a vaulted ceiling. only move-in complaint is they told me that my carpet was being replaced, and it never was.
