leasing agents not customer oriented

The apartments were nice enough; and the maintenance guys were pretty cool. But the people in the office were not easy to get along with. I paid my rent on time for the 1st 8 months I lived there then I was a day late and I took in cash to pay it around 5pm and they told me that they didn't accept cash and since I was late they wouldn't take a check (I had always paid with a check) but by the time I could have went and got a money order and came back they would be closed. I paid them the next day and they assessed an additional day of late charges. I tried to get out of my lease after my year was up and they gave me some crap of it automatically renewing if I didn't notify them in writing 30 days before my lease was up; but my rent increased because I wasn't on a 12 month lease'' So I ended up staying in the apt cause I didn't want to pay the $400 they said it would take for me to "break" the renewed lease...then I had to go out of town for a family emergency and I had a friend to stay at the apartment and he told me he had paid the rent; I came back and had been evicted from the apt and had to fight to even get my stuff; (it was just 2 weeks past my due date) then I tried to settle with them and they wouldn't take payments it had to be the whole amt which with the "eviction fees" plus rent was about $700 which I didn't have-now I've just received a collection letter stating I owe them $1200. I was a good tenant and this place was misleading. Just be sure you read all the fine print plus some and never be a day late on your rent. Doesn't matter if you were only late once or twice in a year-they'll stick it to ya.
Oh yeah and they're electronic security gate was always messing up! You sometimes couldn't get in with a remote or calling or anything! There were many nights when 5 or 6 cars would be out there trying to get in. And the "emergency" line was a joke! It was just an answering service that took a message; by the time anyone called you back someone had come out the gate and opened it and you had already got in. One time it was almost 2 hours before I even got a call back! 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
