Not Tulsa's best

Things started off great. I had a nice move-in deal and ended up in a great 1-bedroom upstairs location. My apartment was clean, easily accessable, and had nice parking options. I had very few mechanical problems and those were fixed within 24 hours of reporting them. Once, I even had squirrels making racket in the ceiling space above my bed, and the problem was rectified quickly.
After about a year-and-a-half, I switched to a 2-bedroom downstairs. I am currently at this apartment. The location is nice aesthetically--shadowy courtyard with at BBQ grill, picnic table, and a porch swing. However, problems started soon after moving in.
First being the neighbors. While they are typically nice enough (and I am not hermit--I enjoy chatting with people), most are excessively loud. It seems they prefer to go directly to the middle of the courtyard to argue and holler at each other, much to the distress to the people in the dozen or so adjacent apartments.
Next, everyone has a dog. While this is not bad in and of itself (I have one as well), my neighbors have no concern for keeping their animals quiet, and especially disregard the courtesy of cleaning up. They are even too lazy to walk the dogs fifty feet across the parking lot and instead let them drop their messes in the gardens, the middle of the courtyard, and even the sidewalk. In the summer, the smell is overwhelming. Needless to say, I have never seen anyone--staff or otherwise--clean these messes. One is at a constant risk of stepping in dog mess, even on the sidewalk. I try to set the example and only allow my dog to do business far away from anyone's apartment and sidewalk, but no one follows suit.
The staff for one reason or another has taken a turn for the worse. That's not saying everyone is at fault--there are some genuinely polite and helpful employees. But I have had problems with dishonesty. Namely, when it came time to renew my lease, I was aware of planned construction work on the highway that runs directly behind the complex. The management assured me--explicitly and several times--that this planned roadwork was a minimum of two years away, nor would it even affect the residents. So what happened' Exactly one month after I signed a new contract, construction began and now I have to deal with closed roads, blocked exits, noise, and an extra half-hour on my drive home from work because I have no other option but to take the highway to the Yacht Club.
I have witnessed many other problems since switching apartments:
--Cars have been vandalized.
--Gates of the advertized "gated community" are rarely closed and when they are working, they are quickly vandalized.
--There was even a non-fatal shooting.
--People drive extremely fast in the parking lots--I've nearly been hit twice, and there are MANY children living in the community.
--The dryers in the laundry rooms rarely dry your clothes.
--I have put in requests to fix my door, my fridge, and my kitchen sink, and no progress has been made.
--Twice have I witnessed someone urinating in the parking lot.
--Once, I came home from a weekend trip and saw my bahtroom and hallway had flooded. Apparently a toilet overflowed in an adjacent apartment and the staff neither called to inform me nor even investigated the problem. I had to spend my evening trying to track down the "emergency" maintainence worker by phone before someone finally showed up. Their advice' Point some electric fans at the carpet and open the windows. Keep in mind this was TOILET water. A direct call to the property owner finally got the problem solved correctly.
There are good things about Yacht Club--a well maintained pool in the summer, a secure gym, koi ponds, and the management hosts a resident party every month, providing food and beer. But the problems are starting to outweigh these. I miss the days of courteous staff and a clean, safe complex.
I hate the moving process, but this time I'm looking forward to moving. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S

i have mixed feelings about these apts. i lived here for a year and as far as the landscaping, it is nice. the gym is brand new and very well equipped. however i do agree with many points. i had 5 friends of mines cars broken into that lived here. the gates never EVER work and if they do its for a day or two and then they are broken again. there was a shooting here.the dryers in the laundry room suck you have to leave your clothes in there and pay 3 times before they get dried. my apartment was also very very small..come to find out they include the square footage of the balcony/patio to the sq. footage of the actual apartment size.
