Yacht Club is more than an apartment complex

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
First let me say that I've read the reviews. I've heard from tenants that some buildings do have roach problems (primarily the buildings on the Southwest side) but it is due to the tenants/past tenants). When I first rented back in 2007 the office agent warned me about the problems in those units.
I am now in my 2nd apartment at Yacht Club. My first, a studio was FABULOUS!. In March I moved to a 1 bedroom which I don't like as much (actually has less storage, smaller closets, etc. and a less desireable location)but I still like the complex. For the price, the apartments are great! I think that they charge waaayyy too much for the 2 bedrooms though.
My main point is that above all, the office people are helpful, the maintenance has quick response to problems and you could not ask for better neighbors! The neighbors are sooooooo nice here! I feel safe. At night there are plenty of people walking their dogs, and they say hello. You get to know people's names. The office staff try to have complex get-to-know-you parties as often as possible. I really like the attitudes around here. That is something you can't find in many complexes.
