I hate this place

I moved in during 2006 and signed a one year lease before I realized what hell this place was going to be. Within 2 WEEKS of living here, I already had problems. They have ZERO guest parking. All your guests must park in the street. They use parking stickers, and if you are out of your spot for even a hour, the towing company, RETRIEVER TOWING WHO IS A PREDATORY TOW COMPANY, will be there and take your car with ZERO warning. I accidentally left my truck misparked for TWO HOURS and they charged me $275 to get it back. The apartment managers don't give a damn. I have seen their trucks sitting out here and night looking for cars to tow. The next problem was rent. My paycheck was late, I let the manager know ONE WEEK ahead of time. No problem, that's just fine. I paid 1 day late and still let them know. They hit me with a $57 late fee. WTF' I got the number for the on site manager's supervisor, JOE KELLER. I left him a message telling him I think it is ridiculous they they don't give me a break, they knew ahead of time of my situation. He didn't even call me back! I was pissed. Complaints fall on deaf ears. When I lease is up, I'm getting the hell out of here. NO extra parking, predatory tow company, supervisor who won't return calls, I don't even want to know what else might happen. Oh yes, and the -------- LOVE to blast their music VERY loud at all hours. What does management do' Absolutely nothing. Don't make the mistake of moving here like I did.

When you sign you paper work the managment advises you upfront regarding the parking. In regards to the rent situation 99.9% of rental properties will still charge you a late fee regardless of the reason because you are techically late, so unless the owner is the manager of the property or is a relative you are pretty much responsible. There is guest parking it is just being used by other tentants for extra vehicles, it should really be guest only parking. If you know in advance that you will have guests they can use you space, you will however need to get a note from the manager, you are also told this upfront, for your guests to place in their front window. The are other parking space that are tenant only, but again are taken by tenents with extra cars.

Sistone, it is obvious you are not a victim to PREDATORY TOWING. I have lived in many, many places that speak of surveillance, and Devonshire has been the first place I lived that has predators. I lived in Wilsonville years ago and never, ever had this problem. There is no warning, they just tow your vehicle for being misparked for any amount of time. It is clear this has never happened to you as you are defending the rental company. As for being late, in the past 10 years there have been cases where I was late due to late payroll, and ONLY Devonshire has ever charged me a fee when it was not my fault. Never once has any other rental company charged me when it was out of my control. From the likes of your message, you must live there and support their predator tactics as well as their lack of concern for other issues. Glad you like it there, I hate it. And munkey... ONE of the managers lives on site. The young 20's year old girl, who has almost no authority does. Bob, the general manager DOES NOT.
