We moved to our apartment and everything was very clean. Our appliances are all very
small and date back to at least the 70's which is a little too retro. The fitness room is nothing more than some a bunch of outdated stationary bikes and stairclimers and one decent wieght center. The pool we were told to be heated has not been and it is soo cold our kids lips turn blue in 5 minutes. Plus we are continuosly denied usage of the pool for other people's mistakes. If you have a problem with kids making a mess do not deny privelages to the entire community, put a little effort out and deal with those responsible. Also it would not be too much to heat the pool so that it is pleasant. It is only open for the summer anyways and if you divide the cost of heating by 70 apartments and then factor in only two months of that cost it works out to less than 5 bucks an apartment, so come on. I really like the manager and living here, it is just really disapointing that all the advertised ammenaties are so poorly maintained. They have allready taken away the pool table, then the air hockey table, stopped heating the pool, ignored the fitness room, closed down one of the saunas instead of repairing it, neglected the "tennis" court (no net, should make it a playground or something of use) and denied use of fireworks on property.

I live here at Kalevala Village also and do not see the problems you are having. I find the Manager wonderful and more than willing to get things fixed in my apartment. She has to have things approved my the head office but she dose everything that she can. So she may need reminded from time to time but I know I would forget things when running 70 apartments. Have you tried to talk to Patty about the problems? If you are up on your rent I don???t see why she wouldn???t be happy to fix what is needing done. You also say that they closed one of the Saunas instead of fixing it. Are you sure you have your facts straight I just went and looked both Saunas are in good working order. As for the Gym yes I think they should have better equipment in there but, even if they did some stupid person would just brake it so what good would it do to get top of the line just to have it destroyed. I think the tennis court is great as is. Sure there is no net but you can sure put one up if you want and remove it when you are done. The court is great for those who want to play ball and not brake a car window or I have seen some take there dogs out there to run. I think it is great.

Thank you for your comments, and yes, we have closed the pool twice since the pool opening party and ice cream social. That is 2 days without pool priviledges in 39 days. I know and love all the Kalevala kids, the problem is with adult residents who do not supervise their kids, and adults who have disobeyed all common pool rules, such as "no alcohol", "no smoking", "no food" "no diving". Every Resident signed the "pool rules" flyer and handed them back to me so there are no excuses for what has happened in the pool and clubhouse area. If poperty is being destroyed, we need to get EVERBODY'S attention....it got yours! Again, the pool table and air Hockey tables were removed because people were using the pool sicks to poke holes in the ceiling!. The saunas are in good condition and have never been closed. The "tennis court" was not being used for tennis, so we took down the net and we are delighted to see people of all ages using it as a "sport court". And yes, we are an "older" property, but many times, "older" is better and bigger. You have a huge apt. with full size appliances and at a very reasonable price. Do you have any idea how dangerous fireworks are? If you are out some day on our walking trail, look for the huge bare space where we once had a lovely group of fir trees, azaleas, and rhodies. They are gone now because of the knuckleheads who lit fireworks on their balcony after they were told not to, and caught the entire area on fire! We were blessed that we didn't have a loss of life.
