Moving from out of state, and only going off of information from rent.com this apartment looked like a decent place to live, plus my yellow lab would also be welcome, sounds pretty good (or so I thought). This is where the nightmare begins. We arrived, signed the papers and moved in. While moving in I found that the place had not been cleaned that well from the six people that had been living there before, according to the names that were in the mailbox slot,(and this was a two bedroom apartment we had moved into) but that was ok I guess, and the stains on the kitchen floor could be covered by rugs. It would take some time to remember that the refigerator door only closes part of the way, but that was a perfect way for those roaches (yes roaches) to get a nice snack if they ran out of food that they were finding and thriving off of elsewhere. There were roaches in every room, but mainly in the kitchen. I went to the office and informed the staff of my situation, and what a relief I found out that I was not the only one with this problem, I would only have to wait a few days for the exterminator to end the problem. So I thought the problem would have ended with him spraying, we even gave it a week, I am sure he would have had better luck if he had sprayed water into the apartment, because the problem seemed only to get worse.
Then there are those wonderful neighbors that loved to scream at eachother, either early in the morning or late at night, sure does keep things interesting.
After searching for a place to park our second car, you get this overwhelming feeling that you are being watched, although it is no neighborhood watch, no, things are not safe here, not at all. According to some of the residents rules, once you leave your car for the evening it is up to them and their friends to make sure that you no longer have a cd player or cds in your car the next day, and this was after only one week of living here.
The courtyard was more like a swamp, at times I thought the apartment building was going to become the centerpiece of the swamp.
If you do find yourself living in this complex, do what I did, get out. It is the law that you have 30 days after signing a lease that you can back out of the lease without any penalties. So those of you who like a clean safe place to live, choose somewhere else to live.
