Please read this review. I have lived here a long time...

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2009
Staff:
Office workers seem to like their job and are always nice. Maintenance don't like their job and usually complain about everything while they are there. I had to have someone come to my place for the same job twice because they didn't fix it correctly the first time. Other times I have had maintenance requests ignored or not filed.
You get more notes on your door for having a child's power-wheels car, than having trash. Someone had to call Channel 2 news to get the "no air conditioner in the windows" policy changed during a heatwave in 2009.
Apartments:
You get your own parking spot, but kids will still finger paint on your car with dust with comments like "Wash me" or "God is ---". Power outlets are mostly wont hold a standard plug because it just falls out of the socket. Washer/dryer combos are usually off balanced and dryer loads take two times to run unless you only put in two towels. The caulk around the bathtub is dried up and cracking causing water leaks, and I am sure mold issues arise in many apartments because of this. I have seen first hand in my friends apartment where the floor is saggy and if I jumped on it I'm sure I could break it. Don't live upstairs if you have kids. The stairs to the upstairs apartments all are horrible if someone were to slip or trip. The walls are thin enough so you can hear neighbors fighting, or some jerks loud alarm clock at 5am.
Neighbors:
Some people are really nice people and very social. Others keep to themselves and just live out their time here like a prison sentence. Sometimes you get a few guys who room together and are unbelievably loud and obnoxious. I watched one guy while drunk jump off the second story roof of his apartment building. I fell in love with someone who lived here once, but she moved away.
I have seen what seemed to be a SWAT team roll through here with riot shields and MP5s(fully automatic sub machine guns). I've seen more police cars, ambulance, and firetrucks here than anywhere else in my lifetime.
I have also seen drug dealers live across from me in the court yard. One actually approached me and asked me what I was taking pictures of while I was taking pictures of my kids. I've seen other drug dealers at the pool. One showed up in his swimming trunks with a baseball bat in his trench-coat and when asked by a child why he had the baseball bat, said, "well you never know..."
Some of these apartments are over filled with Mexican immigrants with one legal green card holder. I watched one family in a 1 bedroom apartment have 8 kids, 4 adults at least and two of the male adults only came home two days a week because they worked so many jobs that they couldn't come home during the week. The women in the apartments will go door to door selling enchiladas and other Mexican foods to make themselves a few bucks. I'm told it's good eats but you have to trust them. Some of the children would tell my kids that they have to keep it a secret that they are not supposed to be in the United States, this is how I know some of them are illegally here.
Some people take their dogs out for their "duty" and never clean it up. There have been several times I have had to close all my windows and doors until it was taken care of.
Courtyards:
Some of the courtyards are nice. two or three of them have just enough cover so that it makes it a prime area for crime because you can't see very well through the trees. Other areas flood so bad during the rainy season that you have to wear rubber boots leaving until you can at least get in your car. most of the green grassy areas are really swamp underneath. I have seen one nice courtyard with one tree and one pick-nick table, but someone stole it.
The lanterns lighting up the courtyards are usually vandalized, broken, or the bulbs are burnt out in them. Rather than walking around the fence, people have broken one of the iron bars so they could walk in directly instead of having to walk all the way around.
Overall:
I like the cheap rent, but I am moving as soon as this lease is up. I will pay a little more so that I can have a better place for my kids and maybe get a good nights sleep without worry, someones squeaky bed at 4am, or dog barking at 6am.
