We have had a pretty bad experience since we moved into this complex 6 months ago.
The insides of the apartments are pretty clean, especially for the price you pay. I did have to clean the cupboards out and other stuff when we first moved in because there was food crumbs left from the previous tenants and there is always awful smells coming from our drains. We have tried everything to get rid of it but unless we open up the windows it smells, which sucks during the winter.
It's awesome that there is a washer and dryer inside every unit, a huge plus.
When we first moved in we had a few maintenance requests and it was nice of the apartments to take in stride and fix what we wanted them to, within a reasonable amount of time. Take note before you move here: the closet is SMALL in the and there is no other closet space or linen closets. It's hard to store stuff. At 575 sq. ft. for the 1 bedrooms, they are small.
We have had problems with bugs in our unit however. The first time it was carpet beetles (one month after we moved in), luckily the management took care of it promptly. But tons of our clothes were ruined because carpet beetles chewed holes in them. Now two months after the beetles have been resolved we have something even worse...cockroaches, but luckily we do not have an infestation. The management sent pest control out 1 week after notified them of the problem and we haven't seen anymore.
The management themselves are pretty friendly but we have had problem after problem in our apartment it seems. Also, people always park in our "reserved" parking spot and so much for the "tow" company because they won't do a damn thing about it. Only the office can call in tows and if they're not in the office you're screwed.
Kids are always running around at 10-11 PM screaming their lungs off. Who knows what their parents are thinking. I would never let my 5 year old run around outside that late, let alone, by themselves. It is pretty annoying if you're trying to sleep. People also like to get drunk a lot in the parking lots and talk really loud. One night not too long ago we woke up to a really loud group of people outside of our bedroom window peeing on our neighbors truck....niiiice.
And yes, there is drug dealing and drug use going on, we see it all of the time. Probably not the best place to raise your kids, but most of the people that live here are mexican and do not speak English, so they probably don't care.
The pool is pretty much for kids only, since there is usually 20 in there at a time and its never free of them, and it's green tinted from all the kids that pee in it. Pretty gross. We tried to swim in it once but I am pretty sure we won't be doing that again.
