Decent apartments, but with bad staff

If you had asked me a year or so ago weather or not I could recommend these apartments, I would have. Now' Not a chance. While the apartments themselves are nice, with decent appliances and a nice, generally quiet location, the quality of the staffing has decreased to the point of total incompetance. Here's some examples of the kinds of things to expect if you ever decide to move in here.

MILLENIUM CABLE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND.
Firstly, if you're moving into these apartments, you'll have to deal with Millenium Cable, if you want cable TV. Millenium Cable is a charlatan of a company. To illustrate, when we first moved into the apartments, we had arrainged for the cable to have turned on a few days in advanced, but there was no picture when we got there. After a weeks worth of waiting, we called up Millenium, and was told that it should be on, and that the earliest they could send a technician would be in two weeks. The technician never showed, and lied and said that he did show, just there was nobody at the apartment. (We were there all day and never left) We called Millenium again, and they told us that they would send another technician in two weeks. After much arguing, they finally realised that they just forgot to turn on our cable. Problem solved. Until the bill came that charged us for two months of the full cable package. We asked Country Gables if this was typical behavior for Millenium Cable, and was told that this was so, but there was nothing they could do about it.

THE LONG, HARD, TREK TO YOUR GARBAGE CAN.
Recently, management got this great idea to do away with all the conveniently placed mini-dumpsters, and centralize it in one giant trash compactor, to make room for new parking spaces. Good idea, in theory. Problem is, the trash compactor is located in one corner of the property, which means that half the complex has to either walk a block or so to throw away thier trash, or drive down to it in their car. On top of that, the promised parking spaces never appeared, and now we have to pay a garbage/sewage bill on top of everything else. When I asked the management about this, I got a snarky little comment like, "Well, does it make you feel any better that we have to pay $6000 to take care of YOUR garbage'" Yes. Just what I wanted to Hear.

MAINTENANCE' WHAT MAINTENANCE'
Late last year, Country Gables decided that they were going to pressure spray the roofs, and repaint the buildings. While I'm not going to comment on the color choices, one of the side effects of having this done was to create a rather serious leak in our roof. First time we noticed this was in December of 2001. I put in a maintenance request shortly after the discovery. After about a month with no reply, and nothing apparantly having been done, I asked the management about it. They had no record of the request at all. So I filed another one. No action. And another. No action. And another. They finally got around to fixing it, but really only made it worse. So I filed another request. No action, etc. etc. All in all, it took them over six months to fix a leaky roof, and they still havn't fixed all the water damage in the apartment.

MOVING OUT
Yes. We're moving out. The rent's too high, we now have to pay for ALL the utilities, our neighbors have gone from single families with children to teenagers who like to drink and party and be loud all night long. Despite the speedbumps, these guys still go 30mph through the parking lot. I do not want my three year old child to be here any longer. The apartments are nice, but everything else isn't.
