I moved into these apartments on a really good deal, $595/mo for a 2bed, 1.5bath upstairs. That was nearly three years ago, and our rent has gone up at nearly every resigning of our lease. It is almost $200 more, now.
What gets to me is the ridiculousness of this place. Nothing is done to enforce any rules whatsoever: your neighbors are loud and obnoxious, kids run everywhere and are in the pool during the non-freezing months up until midnight, no one at ALL seems to notice that the speed limit for the complex is 5mph.
When I ordered an expensive item through the mail, the office received it but never told me. I know that is the fault of the post office, but I am still somewhat curious as to whether they would have sent it back, had I not called them to check.
There are numerous problems with the apartment not being sealed. The windows, the windows, the windows really need improved! "Running your heat will stop that pesky mold build-up." It will also ensure you never have enough money to stay here again!
Oh, and I hope you like ants! 'Cause that's what you'll get. Every spring, they appear as if by magic - in the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the freaking smoke-detector! I got so fed up with waiting for the "exterminator" the use that I bought some putty and sealed every darn crack I could find - our apartment is now somewhat ant free, unless they decide to come in through the outlets. AGAIN.

You are soo right we lived there for almost 8 years..not by choice either.. And they pull the same scam on every one. We saw it time and time again with sooo many people.. they sucker you into moving there with the cheap rent then at the end of your lease they raise it $100.00 . I HATE that place and the ants WILL be back come the spring they do evey year We bought ant traps and they seemed to help May I sugesst that. Our water bill came up to over $100.00 a month and there was only 2 of us. The whole place is nothing but a nasty slum-landlord type situation. My advice to you and to everyone there to get the hel- out. Because by the time we were finally able to get out of there our rent was going up to $850..so you can bet yours is going to keep on going up too. By the way CTL and Ista just had an action law suit against them for over charging. And make sure you take a video of your apt before you move out, because they REALLY sock it to you when you move out. We took a video of ours(and let them know it) and was charge nothing(except 15.00 for that stupid card key for the gym don't forget to return it, we did). So like I said move out!! We did and we found a townhouse (who PAYS the water) for $845 month and we are so much happier. And this place is really really nice!!
