I REALLY LIKED LIVING AT LASALLE

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I moved out May 2008 and would gladly move back in. I got a job out of state which is why I moved.
I lived in the Altamont building which is a 3 story building with controlled access and assigned gated garage parking. Older people and professionals mostly occupied this building which is probably why my experience was highly pleasant. The 1 bdrm Preva unit was huge and had giant vaulted ceilings and a big walk in closet. All the neighbors were nice in that building. I do really miss it!!!!
The cons are that I felt that some of the office staff were condescending. They talked down to you a bit (the tone of their voices). I liked the manager Felicia and leasing agents Kelly and Melissa. They were helpful when I walked in.
The maintenance man responded to my complaints within 2 days and correctly fixed the problem. I was always in the apt when they would come.
I never had noise or parking issues but that was because of the building I was in. I probably would not live in any other building on the property.
I would say my biggest complaints are the following (1) towards the end of lease my new proposed rent was $75 more than the year before and (2) once I used the rent drop and they charged me a late fee (which I successfully disputed) even though I turned the check in on the 3rd when rent due on the 5th. So, from then on I got receipts and walked in my rent check. I never got a late fee again. ALWAYS GET A RECIEPT WITH DATE THEY RECEIVE YOUR CHECK. Not just at Lasalle but everywhere!!!!!
I would move back in if I moved back to Portland area but only in the building I lived in. It was one of my better apartment experiences!!!!!
