The Truth about the New Management

Until Reflections changed management and office personel, sometime between my lease renewal of 7/2004 and 7/2005 Reflections was a fairly pleasant place to live. The main problems were that the apts are extremely hot in the summer and will not cool down in the evening, and very, very cold in the winter. But the neighbors were usually very quiet and had respect for the area they lived in and those around them; the children, for the most part, were well behaved and didn't disturb anyone, families obeyed the rules, they didn't cause hazardous and dangerous situations for the other tenents or themselves and weren't destructive; the pet owners kept their pets quiet, although they did not all keep their cats indoor like they were supposed to; the maintenance people responded fairly quickly and were fairly competent; the grounds keepers were fast and efficient and things always looked very nice, the pools and jacuzzis were fairly well maintained and normally clean; and the office personel were always very professional and cooperative if you had a problem or a request.
Now that the complexes are in different hands in every way, everyone is completely incompetent and very uncooperative. They just don't seem to understand the tenents are basically paying their wages and their responsibility is to keep us as happy and content in our surroundings as possible. They have allowed families with children that are very destructive (taking tennis rackets to the shrubbery and beating them to pieces, spreading trash all over the lawns and the porches of other residents, getting into the recycle bins and spreading the contents all over, playing pranks on the neighbors, throwing mud all over the sidewalks and the porches of others, playing basketball (and baseball) in the driveways between the complexes where you can't see them if you're backing your car out of your garage, and bouncing them off other tenent's garage doors and denting them, and throwing them up onto the roofs; maintenance personel make promises and then change what they've said they will do without informing the tenent, they are slow to respond... 3 calls this last time for a broken washing machine in my garage; although the after hours recording in the office gives you numbers to call, these after hours numbers for complaints and maintanence are turned off, the office personel make 'deals' with you to get you to sign another lease and then don't fulfill the 'deal' or a very poor job is done on whatever it is that's promised, they do nothing about complaints or reports about the destruction by the children - but the person living where the damage is done will be held responsible for the damages when they vacate their apt. Even the danger to the children they do not respond to. The previous employees were very quick to step in and talk to the parents and the children about these dangers when it happened and remind them of the rules. Everyone's garage is supposed to be used for one of their cars, but most use them for storage and there is a real problem with parking for guests; dogs that have been allowed in bark endlessly at times, although the cats seem to have disappeared; the grounds keepers do a terrible job and it takes them hours to do the same thing the previous people did in half the time or less, creating massive noise and noxious fumes, the flower beds are no longer taken care of the way they were and the porches are no longer blown off weekly when the lawn is done.
If you're looking for a cheap place to live the first year and you can tolerate all of these conditions... welcome. But my advice would be to try to find someplace that's better maintained and where the employees are interested in providing the services you are paying for.

Oh wow, it is so refreshing to see I am not alone! We have been happy tenants here until the recent management change. Now we cannot wait to leave. The former managers were great... very professional. The maintenance was too. I don't have any recent experience with the maintenance, but I am doing everything I can to avoid talking to the management. I have to explain myself about 14 times. They are rude, unprofessional, and liars. I do have specific examples, hut since I still live here, I'll have to post those another time! :-)

I just moved in here about 3 months ago. I agree....the management here is the worse I have ever experienced, in any rental situation. I have not had a working 2nd toilet now since I moved in and have submitted written requests for maintainance, called numerous times, etc. I have always been told, they will look into it that day, but they haven't yet. Don't rent here! Terrible management! |

I have a friend that just started renting here. I was going to say this in one review or another, but now that I see that the assistant maintenence supervisor posted what he posted, I'll stick with my original comment. For lack of a better term, the maintenence sucks. I hear about it CONSTANTLY from my friend. He moved in over a month ago and still has stuff that needs to be taken care of. Please, you maintenece people, stay on top of your job, quit smoking pot on your breaks and get the effing job done. |
