Our apartment was not ready for our walk-through even though we'd called a week in advance to set up an appointment to sign our lease and do the walkthrough, consequently, we took possession of an apartment with stained carpets and vinyl, carpets pulling away from the floor, a filthy deck and storage closet and refrigerator. There was bird crap all over the windows and when we asked to have them cleaned, the guy showed up with a too short ladder and simply smeared the mess around with a greasy rag, making the windows even messier. The refrigerator was never cleaned. The carpet was supposed to be fixed three days after we moved in and it has never been repaired--when I complained I was told, "Can't you just throw a mat over it'" There is no soundproofing between apartments nor between the floors and any noise complaints are met with a "Just knock on your neighbors' door, introduce yourself and ask them to quiet down." They refuse to get involved in any disputes regardless of how serious the situation. (Our involved loud obscene fights going on late at night right outside our bedroom windows by the teenagers sharing the three bedroom apartment below our one-bedroom).

The management is non-existent once they get your signature on the lease. Having just moved from one CTL property to this one I have to warn anyone living in a CTL Property to get a signed, dated receipt for every penny you pay them--whether it is for deposits or even monthly rent because they will lie and steal when it comes time for you to move out.

I agree! Every CTL personnel from St. Mary's to the corporate office has been a pain the the a__! I seriously don't know how they could manage so many complex!
