The apartment was decent and the neighbors were just fine. However, when we moved out we were hit hard with cleaning, repair, and replacement fees. WE HAD A 3 MONTH LEASE!! and we were really only living there for 2 of those 3 months. They charged us to replace all the carpet in the apartment. They said there were 130 "pet stains" on the carpet. We had one well trained cat (2 years in the same house and never have had an accident). How does a cat make 130 stains in less than 60 days??? It is obvious they were charging us for either A: the previous tenant's mess or B: to replace a many year old/worn carpet. They said the urine odor was very noticeable... the only smell that was noticeable was the lingering cigarette smoke from the previous tenant. Either way, we were definitely ripped off. They kept the deposit, the pet deposit, and charged for the carpet - all for 2 months of living. We argued with them for a couple weeks and got no where so we just gave it up.

Thank you for your response to this review. Because of it, you just lost at least two potential renters. Keep telling your customers they are completely wrong, and you are right, and you will continue to lose much interest in your apartments.

I thought your apartments looked nice, but I was really put off by the response to the complaint by the former renters. I think that the response was very pointed and didn't sound professional at all. I would be hesitant to move into your community.

I can certainly understand the frustrations involved when there are costs that occur post move out. We process many move outs per year, and find that most all disputes are from former residents with pets. I am in no way a carpet expert and have never claimed to be one. What I do know it that we have very consistant policies following any person moving out that either had a pet residing with them or if there is any suspicion of a pet. We hire a 3rd party company that specializes in this field that conducts a detailed report that can be held up in court if needed. We do everything we can to treat everyone fairly and have people leave here on a positive note, but it is not possible with everyone. We have many residents that moved out end up moving back, plus many current residents refer their friends.

I am a former tenant of Stone Creek Apartments and I lived there for 2 years. I left before my lease was up and management was wonderful about working with me on this matter. Upon leaving the premises my apartment was inspected by a third party for pet stains/odors and they found none( I had a dog and birds in my apartment during the time I lived there). I found management and maintenance both to be easy to deal with and never had a problem with either. They even offered me a free carpet cleaning when the landscapers accidentally blew a tiny amount of bark dust on my patio and some came through my screens. I find the previous review difficult to believe. I will be moving back to Stone Creek if I ever need an apartment again>
