My roommate and I moved into The Lakes right after college. We liked our floorplan because our rooms were separated and we each had a bathroom. Our kitchen was large and we had a nice balcony. We quickly learned that there were more problems then plusses. There were two nice office staff members (Renee and Shawn), but other than that they weren't spectacular. We continually made complaints about several grounds lights that were not working. It was so dark that I literally walked right into someone at night. Our first downstairs neighbors were quiet, but their cigarette smoke was such a bother we had to keep our windows shut. Our next neighbors were two 21 year old guys who had a party every night. We called the office or security about their loud music and yelling on a daily basis and never got any resolution. When my roommate finally went and spoke with the manager he said there was no record of us calling and complaining. Thank goodness for Shawn, he quickly defended my roommate and vouched for our frequent calls. Eventually, our neighbors were given a 30-day notice. They threatened us and told us not to call about them anymore or they would get evicted. We complained again and again and finally managed to get out of our lease early. Parking was ample, but not close to any of the apartments. If you are looking for someplace quiet, this is not the place for you. The pool was nice, but the hot tub was always broken. It was in a convient location, but you could always hear 185th traffic and sirens. There were tons of bugs and spiders, gross!

The person who wrote the review above read my mind completely. I wish I new what I was getting into. I will be otta here in May and I am counting down the days. When the Lakes management asked me why I am leaving I was tempted to give them a piece of my mind but decided to keep it short and to the point.
